Grenville Davey

Grenville Davey (b. 1961, Launceston, Cornwall)  lives and works in Essex. Davey studied fine art at Goldsmiths College,1985 and won the Turner Prize in 1992. Davey is Programme Leader of MA Fine Art at the University of East London and a board member of Commissions East. Davey is also current Artist in Residence at The Department of Theoretical Physics, Queen Mary College, UCL, London. Recent solo exhibitions include: 2008: Little Emperor, No1 Canada Square, London. 2001: Cover up, Slade School, University College London. Selected group exhibitions include: 2011: Modern British Sculpture, Royal Academy, London. 2008: Turner prize a retrospective, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; All flesh is grass, Arts Institute at Bournemouth. Recent commissions include: 2010: Olympic Park commission. 2008: P’s & Q’s, The House, Roche Court, Salisbury. 2007: Steel, canal foot bridge, Vejle, Denmark; Art Council England, East Offices, Cambridge. Lead artist for Olympic Delivery Authority, Arup Engineers.
