George Condo (b. 1957) was born in Concord, New Hampshire. He currently lives and works in New York City. Condo studied Art History and Music Theory at University of Massachusetts in Lowell and is recognized as being one of America’s most influential living artists. He works in mediums of painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. Condo’s highly original and distinctive body of work has consistently drawn upon art historical traditions and genres, the portrait particularly, in order to hold a mirror up to contemporary social mores. Condo has exhibited extensively in the United States, Europe and Asia. His works have been included in exhibitions at many prestigious museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, the Solomon R.
