Ann-Marie James

Ann-Marie James (b.1981, Buckinghamshire, UK)  lives and works in London and Suffolk. James studied MA Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Art, London (2010–12); Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London (2010) and BA (Hons) Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London (2001–04). Her awards include The Derek Hill Foundation Scholarship at The British School at Rome (2013–2014); MFI Flat Time House Graduate Award, supported by the John Latham Foundation, London (2012); The Jealous Graduate Print Prize, London (2012) and The Queen's Award, Central Saint Martins Scholarship Awards (2003). She has undertaken residencies at The British School at Rome, Rome, Italy (2013), Headspace (supported by the Daiwa Foundation), Nara, Japan (2011) and Lantana Projects, Memphis, Tennessee, USA (2006). James' recent solo exhibitions include Ann-Marie James: Musée Imaginaire, Knoerle & Battig, Winterthur, Switzerland (2013); Ann-Marie James: Proserpina, Karsten Schubert, London (2013); Ann-Marie James: Hanami, Soho Art Gallery, Osaka (2011); Ann-Marie James: Pareidolia, Edel Assanti Project Space, London (2010); and Ann-Marie James: Knot, Brahm Gallery, Leeds (2010). Her work is held in the collections of The British School at Rome, Rome, Italy; Chelsea College of Art & Design Library, University of the Arts, London, UK; The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK; and John Jones Collection, London, UK. James is represented by Karsten Schubert, London.
